Minulost propojená s přítomností a budoucností, to je leitmotiv univerzitního jubilea, které odkazuje k roku 1573, kdy císař Maxmilián II. udělil tehdejší jezuitské koleji promoční práva a v Olomouci vznikla jezuitská akademie rovnoprávná s jinými tehdejšími západoevropskými univerzitami.
Rok 2023 je v Olomouci rokem Univerzity Palackého. Druhá nejstarší univerzita v České republice si totiž připomíná 450 let od svého založení.

Historical Notebook.

The connection between past, present, and future is the central theme of the university’s anniversary, recalling the year 1573, when Emperor Maximilian II granted graduation rights to the Jesuit College in Olomouc. This act established the Jesuit Academy, making it equal to other European universities of its time.

The year 2023 is the Year of Palacký University Olomouc. As the second oldest university in the Czech Republic, it celebrates 450 years since its foundation.
