The subject of the book is an anthropological and ethnological examination of the human body and physicality. The publication of the team of authors focuses on body modifications, discussion of the boundaries of the human body and differences between human beings and machines. It loosely follows the title Body: sniff, comb, touch, pierce, cut (2014). Individual chapters deal with eating disorders, scalping, differences between man and machines, functional modification of the body and implementation of extreme modifications. The chapter unites the theme of pain and crossing the boundaries of the human body.
