Historical block The Refraction of Light.
The past connected with the present and the future, that is the leitmotif of the university jubilee, which refers to the year 1573, when Emperor Maximilian II. granted the then Jesuit colleges graduation rights and a Jesuit academy was established in Olomouc on an equal footing with other Western European universities of the time.
The year 2023 is the year of Palacký University in Olomouc. The second oldest university in the Czech Republic is celebrating 450 years since its foundation.
