Pavel Kopeček

The publication charts the history of the anti-fascist resistance from 1939 to 1945 in individual European countries and assesses the importance that the resistance movement had to the history of World War II. The most significant attention is paid to anti-fascist resistance in Central Europe, i.e. the In Poland, the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia. To complement the overall view, the activities of resistance movements are also described in other parts of Europe – the occupied territories of the Soviet Union and the Balkans, Scandinavia, Western Europe, and the allied and satellite states of Nazi Germany. The aim is to capture the common features, but also the differences that accompanied the existence of illegal movements during The Second World War in individual European regions.
