Between standard, reform and practice
Josef Šrámek
The existence of dependent houses, probostheticism, is a relatively fundamental novelty within the Benedictine monkhood. It is an element which the original religious of St. Benedict does not reflect, as only individual autonomous communities without formal hierarchical links are envisaged here. Nevertheless, during the Middle Ages, the exhibitions of the mother abbeys took place and no later than 13. In the 19th century, Czech and Moravian sources also testify to their existence. The aim of the book is to outline the transformation that benedictine has undergone since its beginnings in the 6th century. In this context, explain what role the proboscis played within the Czech Medieval Church and what factors shaped the development of the network of Czech and Moravian Benedictine monasteries.
