The city of Olomouc was not and is not just a collection of historical monuments, a decorative backdrop reminiscent of the glory of the past, which daily amazes visitors from all corners of the world. It is also a living organism, in which the fates of houses are closely connected with human ones, for they are weaves into the history of the city like colored threadsruns of its inhabitants. In this book, the two authors attempted to combine their views of the city, whether it be capturing the fleeting beauty of charming streets and no corners or the wondrous fates of people who lived here in times past. In the stories of individual characters, as well as in attached photographs, Olomouc comes to life again in a form that many readers remember from their youth.
