Martin Stöhr
The author (r. 1970) once began in a wide stream of spiritually tuned poetry, but over time the crust of this canonical poetics loosened in favor of chords rather non-confesive, civil and formally unbound. Stöhr’s fifth collection summarizes the poems that have been produced since his last book, Laughter from a Dream, was published in 2012. Poems like lyrical finds that didn’t get banished. A recessed stained glass of memories and stealthy sneering as we travel through time, in which “our life is halfway through.” And gentle smiles at the futility of such an act on top.
